Story:  Princess Elizabeth is implicated when an attempt to abduct King Edward VI is foiled.  Shortly after this, Edward dies leaving Mary Tudor to be Queen.  Mary is a devout Catholic and fears that Elizabeth may be used as a figurehead of a Protestant rebellion after she returns England to "The True Faith"...

Story:  Elizabeth has turned 25 and is now Queen.  She is also unmarried.  Her council is putting pressure on her to marry but she is refusing.  It seems that the only man to interests her is Robert Dudley.  When Dudley's wife dies in mysterious circumstances Elizabeth is left with a dilemma.  If she is to marry is Dudley the right man, politically?

Story:  Francis, Duke of Alencon comes to England to try and win the affections of Elizabeth.  She is very taken with him.  A marriage to the Duke would be advantageous, politically.  However, growing opposition to the marriage leaves the Queen with a difficult decision.  Should she follow her heart and marry the Duke, or should she listen to the opponents to the marriage...?
