Story: After defusing a bomb Ash receives orders to take the bomb direct to a Doctor Gillespie in Kent. They arrive to find a slightly eccentric scientist and his daughter, Susan working on ways to get around the booby-trap timer that is causing the bomb disposers so much trouble. Gillespie has a plan to drill into the bomb and steam out the explosive, thereby by-passing the booby-trap altogether. Ash is sceptical about the device. Although it works in principle he feels that there are too many things to go wrong. However, things are getting increasingly bad in London and very soon Gillespie is in London to try the devise out on a real, live bomb... |

When the bomb proves to have gone through the seller of a silversmith Mickey sees one of the men steeling some of the silver. She tells Salt who hatches a plan with her to stop the man from collecting his ill-gotten gains. Meanwhile Ash's date with Susan is jepordised when the bomb is found and is discovered to be a type 50, one that is almost impossible to defuse... |

Soon Brian finds himself back in London trying the method out on a live bomb... |

Story: Since the explosion that almost killed him Ash is feeling useless. With his mobility severely limited he is worried that he will be discharged from the army. However, he isn't discharged, merely re-classified for light work. Ash is happy with this until he is re-assigned away from bomb disposal. Depressed that he isn't being allowed to do the one thing he's good at. As his time with the unit quickly draws to a close the discover of a bomb left over from the beginning of the war gives Ash one last bomb to defuse. But is he mentally strong enough to cope with the stress of defusing a bomb one last time...
